The rainforest is located in the areas highlighted in green on the map (left). These areas are humid, lush, and warm all year, and they don't experience a lot of temperature variation. The rainforest biome is extremely important because it possesses approximately 50% of all the Earth's biodiversity (even though they cover only 2% of the Earth's surface!).
